When people hear the news that their family or friends are dead, their first reactions are normally not to believe it. As time passes, people started to accept the truth. However, depends on people, there are several ways to accept unbelivable news. One tendancy is trying to find a way to get over a shock from the thing that they rely on and is familiar with them. Take a look this sentence in the book. "My sister had always loved animlas." From this sentence, we can guess that although her sister pretend to accept her boyfriend's leaving, she still believes that her boyfriend is alive and send her messages through the talking dog deep inside of her mind. Let's look at another part. After Jimmy came back, her sister and he went to Florida together. Surprisingly, the talking dog showed up to them in Florida. How was it possible? It's nonsense in real life. Then what is it? Again, I connected the talking dog with her mind. Firstly, let's talk about her situation. Although she is a married woman, she ran away with Jimmy. Let's focus on her inner side. Cheating on her husband could cause her to feel guilty, and she knew that running away with Jimmy is wrong. So, there were two parts in her mind, love and cheating. And through talking with the dog, I think she tried to be calm and find peace in her mind. Also, as a result of the talking with the dog, she decided what to do, which is going back home with her mother because it was right thing morally. In conclusion, the talking dog is kind of her friend that she can rely on when she is in trouble, and through it, she can find peace in her mind and get through the life.
I said already that I like this story. But After I think more about it, it getting more difficult (I am not saying 'I don't like it anymore').
But thing which is still in mystery is Truth of Talking Dog! Who is he(I mean dog)? How he came to Florida? Does sister brought him with her? Why sis she ?
In those question, my first thought,opinion, is the dog is not the same dog! I mean this is America, United States! How many similar dog could be exist in that country? MORE THAN A Thousands. so that dog may be the similar dog, white hair and cute.
Or the other option,I think, is She, the sister, can really commute with the dog. I show TV program during the Chuseok, that shows one woman who came from USA, can talk with cats. She didn't say anything but see though the eyes of cats and know what cats telling us. It's like a translater of cat language. So I mean that sister could commute with the talking dog, could understand him, or can feel though the dog. Well sometimes we can feel 'something bad going to be happen'thing. In this option, Sister may be brought the dog, then why she pretend it as a miracle or secret happen!
Well... I think I could write tons of option of this stories... It has so many mystery which the writer didn,t tell us clearly. So that's why it's good to read and to think.
Last thing I want to say about, Younger sister could be a crazy, so this story is all lie!??
Well, this story was the most difficult story for me. I sadly don't have much to say about it..@@ maybe it's because of that myterious doggy, or maybe because of the plot. I think I should read this again sooner or later, so that I can catch more ideas about it.
This story was interesting but, mysterious story. Becuase, how the talking dog goes to Florida is still mysterious to me. I first read that part, I got the gooseflesh. And, the fact that younger sister loves Jimmy is dramatic reversal.
At first, I thought that the story is about a dog which can talk. (haha)
Well, I just feel sorry for the sister. When Jimmy gone, she married another guy. But after Jimmy appeared(I was so surprised that Jimmy came back!!!), she ran away with him. What a love isn't it? It occured me Romeo and Juilet.
And what about the dog? (I'm not sure if that dog is a one dog or just similar dog.) I don't think that the dog is more than friend to the sister. Well... I can't express that well but,,, a kind of.. soul mate? It this too much to imagin? Maybe because she loves animal, the dog and the sister could be connected well.
