The thing I'm gonna ask is a very minor thing :) You said everyone in this story is happy! When I heard it, I just got curious about barbor's wife. What would she think about the guy who attempted to suicide? In the end of the story, It says 'Comes round and plays with my kids on Sundays.' I couldn't get it how could she let her kids play with someone who tried to suicide because of her. Didn't she feel any guilty or hatred? Otherwise, she might feel exactly the same way as her husband. :p
Well, it seems like everybody don't understand. ME, too! I was totally, perfectly shoked by all situation and last word that barber said. "I never charge him" How can I forget it! and I have one more shock. After this class, I feel strange and even like, bad feelings. So I pick up rock music that I never listened before today. I expectand that song will change my feeling. and, what a, BAM! Just exatly same modern crazy love story! This song name is [She's gone] and made by famous korean musician, G-dragon. You can find it easliy. All day(while I writing this comment!) I listen this song and tangled by these LOVE. I would like to write some shocked text:

When I read this story, it was pretty shocking. The way speaker talks in a very calm way and how it was possible. But now that I think of it very carefully, it is possible to talk in a way as if nothing happened. I had some experience where I wasn't able to forgive the person. But when times passed, it just became a memory that made me grow up.
I think they are truly the best friend and that's why they were able to forgive each other.
People might say that what about the wife? She might have felt bad and terrible but I think because the guys are getting along well she can handle it well. She might feel guilty in some way, but for her it just becomes a memory just like the guys.
This story was little curious but, funny compared with other stories. Beginning of the story is enough to caught my attention. But, I'm curious about why barber is intimate with the guy. He loved barber's wife! what was worse he trys to suicide himself! If I were the barber, I'll get upset every time I met the guy. I think this situation is quite strange to me.
I was really shocked after I finally understand what's going on in this story. How can he goes to barber and cut hair ! Well even though he overcome his mind and now he could play with barber's kids, I still can't imagine it. If I were him I will never see barber again. It was my opinion anyway.
Second thing that makes me surprise was barber's attitude. He was really excited about telling to new guest about the tragic(well, not tragic for him) story! I'm sure he was enjoying talking.
And I wonder if the guy who cut his throat knows about that the barber tells the story to everyone ! Maybe he would be mad or not. Or he already knows about that but pretends he doesn't care about it.
Well. It's so interesting and short! compared with other works.
At first, I did't notice how the story flows. But the more we read the story, the more I could understand what's going on! And even in the end of this, there was the dramatic reversal. I didn't imagine that the reason the man got a free service is like that.
Lastly, I wonder about an effect of short sentence following long sentences. To me, It makes me concentrate on the short one a little bit more.
It's easy to think that why the barber tells his personal story to an alien customer, but I feel somethimes it's much easier to bring out my secret or my stories in front of someone who doesn't know about me very well. Actually what I was not so sure in the story was why the barber told the customer that 'you make your own life.' and the question was answered during the class. Because the barber is the winner, and he has been confident in his life especially in love. That's why he could pass his wisdom to others.
I really liked this story while some people don't understand that situation. The guy who tried to suicide would be very lonely, in my perspective, so that he could't even think about leaving the barbor's family. You know, sometimes I really wanna move on to the next step of relationship from whatI'm having now, and I just can't because I'm lonely without these people. For instance, boyfriend. I suppose that I have had relationship with this guy about a year and now I just want to break up with him. But I can't because I totally know him, he cares about me, and this relationship is so comfortable. Above all, I have no one to go back. I just spent my whole year only with him. Think about the guy in this story. Didn't he tried to kill himself for gift for his lover? Would you want to be a friend of him? He scares people, maybe nobody wants to be with him. But, this barbor's family didn't try to move to any other town to escape from him although he gave them a ridiculous gift, I mean memory. If I were this guy, I would stay near them too. At least, they would not make me lonely.
Baber, He is the wierd person. He telling his story to total stranger. Stranger didn't ask him anything and didn't know things. But Barber telling him. don't you think is weird to talking about suicide story which happened because of him? I wonder this it real or does he made up to attact customers.
Anyway, Let's think it's real. But Why does girl(Fred's wife?)didn't like him(Albert?)? She nursed him when he was sick. Why did she do that, which make him to confuse and to be more desperate? Is she really just kind and nice person? Is that why still let Albert to play with her kids? Does she and barber going to tell their kids about this story? "Hey, kids! This Albert uncle tried to kill himself because he loved your mom so much. But she choose me!" thing?
I imagine this barber guy is not really nice. Because If I were him I rather keep this as secret to death. He got her, Winner! Isn't that enough to satisfy? Does he have to telling everywhere to be proud? What If Albert heard this? Barber still want more? step on hime completely? What a looser :(
